We realize that visiting any church for the very first time can make anyone a little nervous.
Where do I go?
What time do I show up?
Do I bring my kids in the auditorium with me?
These and other questions can come to your mind. Well, we want to put you at ease. We want your first visit to Bible Baptist Church to be as helpful, warm, and informative for you as possible.
Here are a few answers to your questions that we have tried to anticipate...
Where should I go when I arrive?
We are currently finishing an addition to our church that is quite sizable and is forcing us to re-route everyone for the short-term. We have a ramp entrance that most people enter upon arriving (it's actually is the front of the auditorium). As soon as the service starts, we direct everyone to enter at the rear entrance which is around back. There are signs posted and on Sunday mornings we have people directing you into the building. Right now, because of the constructions, it is a tad strange to navigate. This spring we are hoping to have our new main entrance and the building addition complete. Please be patient with us for the time being.
When should I show up?
Parking can be limited, but we do try to reserve a few spots just for visitors. We have a good size parking lot, plus we have additional parking on the backside of the church (along Fairview Ave.). We suggest that you arrive 15 minutes before the start of a service so that you can park in the main lot and come in comfortably and be directed to where you might want to sit. Also, we would just enjoy meeting you before hand.
Do you have a nursery?
Yes. A clean, staffed nursery is provided during all services for children 3 years of age and under. If you do not feel comfortable leaving your infant in our nursery, we have, at the rear of the auditorium, a "bawl room" for a parent to sit with their infant and not worry about being a distraction if the child does "bawl" during the service.
What are your services like?
Our services are what is commonly called "traditional." The worship music primarily is great hymns of the faith as well as some choruses. We do have special music from members of the congregation. The focus of all of our meetings is the public worship of God in "psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs" and the faithful preaching and teaching of the Word of God.
Which Version of the Bible do you use?
Based on the teaching of the Bible and on the testimony of history, we are persuaded that the King James Version is the English translation that is faithful to the inspired and preserved Words of God that still exist in the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Textus Receptus of the New Testament. If you do not have a copy of God’s Word in English (KJV), we will be happy to let you use one of our KJV Bibles here at the church building.
Do visitors have to stand up and say anything?
No, we would never want to embarrass a guest of ours. We will give you a connection card and ask you to drop it in the offering plate so we can have a record of your visit if you choose to do so. We do have a free gift for each guest available at the Welcome Center following the service.
Am I Expected to Participate in the Offering?
No. We don’t invite you to Bible Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
If there’s something we missed in this list, just give us a call, or ask the person at the Welcome Center when you arrive. Whether you’re new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it’s been a long time since you’ve attended church at all, we hope your first visit at Bible Baptist will be tremendous help to you and an encouragement! We exist to preach God's truth from His Word, to serve you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally. We hope you’ll feel right at home from the very first moment you step into our church building! Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!
